3D Modeling Projects
FST 220 Project 4 - Independent Final Project

I created a VR image based off of the East Australian Current scene in Finding Nemo. The turtle models are based off of Loggerhead sea turtles which nest off of the coast of North Carolina and actually use currents such as, the Gulf Stream to move to and from their desired nesting place. I modeled and textured everything in Maya 2019.

FST 220 Project 2 - The Connected Objects
“Power Plant” takes in energy through the solar panels attached to its branches, that energy then flows through the plant and is stored in the plant’s base/pot structure. It is then possible for the consumer to plug in and charge electronic devices into the plant such as phones and laptops.
The flower buds on the ends of the branches of the plant are indicators so the consumer knows how much charge the plant has. The more in bloom the flowers are, the more charged the plant is. Power Plant is a way for consumers to charge their devices by using a clean energy source.

FST 220 Project 1 - Bimimicry Inspired, 3D Nano Machine

Created a model inspired by the microscopic creatures, Water Bears. The purpose of it is to refrigerate research materials for storage purposes without the use of water, making the materials easy to store and to transport. The mechanical element for the creature is a mechanical claw that can latch onto objects in order to store them, the claw is retractable, much like the mouth of a Water Bear. A space helmet was added to the model because Water Bears are able to live in any environment, including space.

FST 220 Project 3 - Outdoor/Indoor Environment

This is a greenhouse that also acts as a test laboratory for the "Power Plant" that Trevor Tackett and I made for Project #2. In order to make this, I made the structure then I made the outside of the structure have a glass texture. Inside of the structure, I have two test subjects. One is the "Power Plant" from Project #2, which is passing all of its tests and seems to be working. However, the other test subject is failing all of its tests (seen by the F on its clipboard). The other test subject also has broken solar panels, rotting bark, and wilting flowers which also signify that it is not performing well.
