About Stephanie McQuade

Hi! My name is Stephanie McQuade and I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies with a minor in Digital Arts from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). I focus in 2D animation and editing. In 2018, I directed my first animated short film, "Anna Belle" which is a 2D rotoscoped animation that has been shown in over 15 international film festivals including Cinema Sisters International Film Festival in Wilmington, NC. In the summer of 2018, I worked with Uptone Pictures in Wake Forest, North Carolina editing and animating for multiple nationally broadcasted television shows. I also worked on the feature documentary, “Cruising 1979” directed by Jeffrey Schwarz as a archivist in 2018.

My latest film project is a 2D animated film entitled, "Making Bubbles" which I directed as my senior capstone project. This short film follows a baby sea turtle named Terrance who encounters many obstacles on his way to the ocean from the nest. This film brings attention to the importance of how negatively littering affects marine life as well as the importance of making a difference in the world, no matter how small it may seem. When I am not evolving my technical skills, I love to go to the beach, volunteer at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, run, play with my cat, Harley, spend time with my family, and travel. Currently, I am in the process of starting the production label, Deep Blue Renderworks with my partner, Hugh Stephens.
